The One World Futbol Project Presents the Santa Cruz Beach Soccer Championship
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. The One World Futbol Project, an award-winning B-Corporation and creators of the One World Futbol, today announced their sponsorship of the Santa Cruz Beach Soccer Championships, formerly called the Fresh Coast Beach Soccer Championships. As title sponsor, the One World Futbol Project is presenting a pair of 5-on-5 beach soccer tournaments, held on separate weekends this year, bringing Brazilian flair to Northern California. The tournaments take place on the weekends of June 8-9 and June 15-16, in front of the famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
The 4th annual Santa Cruz Beach Soccer Championships draws a sell-out crowd every year, including U.S. National Beach Soccer players who display their high-flying bicycle kicks and aerial passing game to score amazing goals that is the trademark of this rapidly growing sport. Divisions are set up for under-8 boys and girls through under-19, collegiate, adult co-ed, women's and men's. There is also a Men's Open cash prize division with the winning side taking home $1,500. The under-8 level for boys and girls is new this year.
For each weekend tournament, matches consist of three 11-minute periods with four players and one goalkeeper on the field. Each team is guaranteed three games, with two on Saturday and one Sunday, and up to two more on Sunday based on performance. The tournament encourages participation by both competitive and recreational sides. Flexible match scheduling and club discounts are available for multiple teams. Fundraise for Your Team
As part of the sponsorship, the One World Futbol Project is providing each team with a One World Futbol TM, the virtually-indestructible ball that never needs a pump and never goes flat. The One World Futbol Project is also inviting all registered teams to fundraise using the One World Futbol. For every ball sold through a registered team, the One World Futbol Project will donate $5 back to the registered team. To learn more and support your favorite tourney team, visit: Fundraising Here.
